end of third quarter

this weekend marks the end of third quarter, the beginning of InCite NYC and the 1 week countdown to spring break! yay! aside from the obscene amount of hours spent putting up the opera, i am happy to say that i have survived this time relatively unscathed...which is pretty exciting considering that third quarter did me in last year.
AND--foreverendia opens tonight!! enjoy the photos! (and come see the show!!)

internships

I just found this most amazing thing and I CANNOT WAIT to find out whom to contact and send off a letter!

The Getty Museum has the Getty Villa in Malibu, which specializes in antiquities. And guess what? THEY HAVE A THEATRE! and its DEDICATED to bring the classics to life!!!

How perfect is that? Read about it HERE !!

This would be the most perfect thing for me to do ever.

third quarter

the time has come to write about the most amazing and terrible thing that happens every year: third quarter. last year, third quarter was about two major shows opening at the same time, not having a floor, hanging every unit in the building, and running out of twofers. it was also about not sleeping for days, 20 hour calls and general ridiculousness.

this year, third quarter is once again COMPLETELY ridiculous, but it is not quite as equal opportunity as it was last year, meaning that elx can help out tp. SO: for the last four days, I have been at the theatre everyday for 19-20/24 hours and I have worked three overnights back to back.

however, as bad and terrible as it may be, when you look around you and you see all your friends, whatever their major or focus, helping out on whatever needs getting done you realize why you do theatre.

and that's awesome.

so, it turns out that i actually won something this time around at ACTF: "National Barbizon Award for Lighting Design Honorable Mention". pretty exciting, no? yay for rovers!

Bill, "the gap"

also: the production is the ONLY production from region 1 being held for the national competition and ellie (our director) won a regional directing award. pretty snazzy!
